A dated kitchen, oak cabinets, granite tile counters, a tiled peninsula bar, and a laminate floor, taken to the studs and rebuilt in under five weeks. Custom maple cabinets from DWV's own cabinet supplier, Calacatta Idillio quartz, a white three by twelve tile backsplash from Arizona Tile, new plank flooring, and refreshed electrical and plumbing, all in the footprint the homeowner already knew. Don calls it proof of how affordable a beautiful new kitchen can be.

The starting point
Oak cabinets, granite tile counters, a peninsula bar under three pendants, and a laminate floor. Demolition took the room to the framing; the old counters, cabinets, and flooring came out, the walls were opened for new wiring and plumbing, and the peninsula was stripped to its studs.
Designed before built
The kitchen was rendered in maple and quartz and approved by the homeowner before construction. The layout stayed; the sink under the window, the range on the left run, the refrigerator on the right with a full height pantry beside it. What was built matches the rendering.
The build
Custom maple shaker cabinets built by DWV's cabinet supplier, with a full height pantry column beside the refrigerator and open shelves flanking the window. Calacatta Idillio quartz in three centimeters on the counters and the peninsula. Arizona Tile's Flash in white, three by twelve, from the counter to the uppers. Epic Plank flooring in Vibe. Electrical and plumbing refreshed throughout, under cabinet lighting, a stainless chimney hood, and three seeded glass pendants over the peninsula. The appliance set was supplied by the homeowner. Start to finish in under five weeks.
