Portland whole-home work since 2008
Trade sequencing, cash flow staging, and homeowner accommodation logistics on a whole-home project differ materially from single-room work. DWV's protocols are established and documented.

Whole-home remodeling · Portland Metro
Remodeling a whole house is a sequencing job: forty decisions a week, six trades in the right order, a family that still needs somewhere to live. Don has run that schedule across Portland since 2008 — design, permits, build, and final inspection under one roof.

Don starts every whole-home remodel by walking the structure with you — what stays, what moves, what goes — then runs every trade on one schedule he manages himself.

Why homeowners hire DWV
Trade sequencing, cash flow staging, and homeowner accommodation logistics on a whole-home project differ materially from single-room work. DWV's protocols are established and documented.
The owner is the homeowner's contact from initial assessment through final inspection. The person who prices the job runs the job.
Bungalow, Craftsman, and mid-century homes are renovated with attention to original detailing. Trim profiles, casing, and millwork are matched where the homeowner directs.
A milestone-based schedule is shared at the start of construction and updated weekly. Slippage is communicated in writing with a revised milestone date.

FAQ
Most whole-home projects require temporary relocation for at least part of the schedule. The duration depends on whether the kitchen and at least one bathroom can remain in service through the project. DWV maps this at the start and discusses options openly.

Milwaukie's residential stock is heavily weighted toward Craftsman bungalow and mid-century construction. The bones are typically sound; the systems — electrical, plumbing, insulation — are typically what require attention. DWV's whole-home and kitchen-bath work in Milwaukie reflects that pattern.

SE Portland is the densest pocket of century-old bungalow stock in the metro. DWV has been renovating these homes — Hawthorne, Sellwood, Mt Tabor, Laurelhurst, Richmond, Brooklyn — weekly for the firm's full 17-year history. The pattern is familiar.
